I love the dramatic and stylish film noir / old Hollywood style portrait photographs! I generally do these in black-and-white, but every now and then, there's an image that demands to be in color. Period appropriate attire might help set the mood, but it's also quite possible to get the same mood with contemporary dress. It's not the props or clothing - it's the attitude!
